The Presiding Elder and a Teacher of Power Of Praise Chapel ,Assin Fosu Mr Robert Opare Addo urged Christians in the country to stop asking the question ‘WHY’ and focus on their Christian life.He said ,if we try to find the meaning of everything,we may end up veying of the road.

Mr.Addo said, the church which was suppose to be our place of our refuge has now been turned to a place of gossip and argument,we always tag people as sinners, witches and wizards and for that matter unfit and also unclean to perform any duty in the church which he said shouldn’t be so. He said ,Jesus appointed Judas Iscariot of which he knew was a devil as part of his twelve apostle (john 6:70) ,so if we keep on asking WHY we wouldn’t understand until judgment day.

He therefore Urged Christians to stop talking and do their part and leave the rest to God. Mr.Opare Addo gave the advice in his sermon at Power Of Praise Chapel ,Assin Fosu on the topic:HOW JESUS CHOOSE THE TWELVE APOSTLE.He added that ,God don’t look at some ones background before he gives the person his anointing so we shouldn’t be overwhelmed by some issues in the church.

45 year-old man in grips of police for defilement

A 45 year-old man whose name was given as Brother Kofi is in the grips of the Suame police command in Kumasi for allegedly defiling a 13 year-old girl and impregnating her.

The suspect according to our reporter Abdul Malik, had an amorous relationship with the victim and upon hearing that she was pregnant gave her concoction to drink to terminate the pregnancy.

The victim was later rushed to the hospital after bleeding profusely but upon arrival, the doctor advised the parents to lodge a formal complaint at the police station to effect the arrest of Brother Kofi.

He was subsequently arrested and is currently under police custody pending further investigations.

Don’t compare me with Kofi Boakye-COP Ken Yeboah

It is natural for different persons in the same profession or people directly following each other in a line of work to adopt different approaches to dealing with issues depending on how they feel about it.

Such is the view of Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah who does not want residents of Kumasi to compare his approach to policing to his predecessor, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye.

According to him, he has his own way of dealing with a situation when it arises and therefore comparing their approaches to tackling criminal activities is flawed.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm hosted by Kwame Adinkra, the former Director in charge of Legal Prosecutions said policing is not about personality but structures and strategy.

“We are two different persons with different approaches to issues in the profession and remember that policing is not about personality but structures and strategy. I have a different approach to dealing with crime and achieve results”, he added.
COP Ken Yeboah was moved from the Northern Region in a shake-up in 2017 at a time there were reports of increasing crime rate with a section of residents indicating he was not as vigorous and aggressive like COP Nathan Kofi Boakye.

But he maintained that his predecessor had marshaled a lot of strategies to deal with robbers, and he had come to add to what his predecessor did, stating that; “I’m ready to face robbers in the region.”
“I promised I was going to build on the legacy he left behind which I have done and the records are there to show. If you are unable to protect your father’s legacies, definitely those legacies will be destroyed, and so I assured you that I was going to sustain the gains made by Kofi Boakye in the region and improve on it which I have done”, he stated.

He slashed himself with the sharp knives hoping it would not have any effect on him bu his mysterious act and incantations failed him as his first slash cut deep into his stomach.

– Afelete Amewuga

Surprised at why his magic failed the first time, Amewuga tried it again with the other knife in his other hand.
This time it was worse as the knife cut deep into his stomach, bringing out his intestines to the surprise of the spectators.
Unperturbed by the development, the spectators just looked on, thinking it was part of the act until Amewuga requested to be taken to the hospital.
Disclosing the story to The Mirror newspaper, Amewuga’s wife, Happy Amewuga, said Amewuga lost consciousness but the medical doctor managed to fix the intestines back into the stomach and he regained consciousness later.
However, a few days later, he was referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where he passed away.

On his deathbed, he said: “When I return to earth, I will go to church. I won’t practice this anymore.”
As part of activities to mark his funeral rites, members of the Korku group displayed all kinds of magic in full glare of the public to honour their fallen comrade.
They did what their fallen comrade failed to do as long knives entered stomachs, eyeballs were gouged out into palms and fixed back, among other magical displays.

Two Dead In Kwadoegya Chieftaincy Clash

Two people have been killed at Kwadoegya in the Abura Aseibu Kwamankese district of the Central region as a result of a chieftaincy dispute in the area.
The two, lost their lives Wednesday evening during a ceremony by one of the rival gates to install a chief.
Two rival gates claiming ownership to the stool of the town clashed during the installation process resulting in many others sustaining injuries.

The deceased were alleged to have been clubbed to death during the melee. The remains have since been deposited at the Abura Dunkwa Government hospital for autopsy.
The injured are also receiving treatment at the same facility.
The whole melee started after a decision by one of the rival gates to accord a deceased claimant to the stool a royal burial last Saturday.
The other rival gate objected to the decision but the rival family went ahead with the royal burial as the deceased was even buried in the family house to the annoyance of the other gate.

The defiance according to Starr News sources pushed the rival gate who currently occupy the throne to mobilise men to scupper the installation process with many subjected to severe beating.
The police were quickly brought in to restore order last Saturday only for the situation to escalate Wednesday evening when the family decided to defy every warning to install a chief from their side as they do not consider the current chief, Nana Gyampafu Abaka IX who was gazetted as chief in 1995 as legitimate occupant of the stool.

Those from the Nana Gyampafu Abaka IX’s gate put up a resistance as it became a free for all fight with residents fleeing for their lives as a result of gun shots being fired.
Residents are calling on government to intervene in the chieftaincy issue which has claimed many lives in the past with others suffering severe injuries any time the clash erupts.
Nana Gyampafu Abakah lX who spoke to Starr News described the action of the rival gate as inimical to the progress of the land
He urged them to use legitimate means to seek justice if they feel they have been short-changed.

The police who visited the area have declined to comment on the matter explaining that they are on the ground to get all details concerning the matter before they speak to the media.
